This film explores what some students have done to transform their schools into safer and more welcoming environments. Interviews with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and national activists highlight the need for transformation of homophobic school environments and offer resources and advice for those actively working for change. Russian punk rock group Pussy Riot has called on the federal government to offer political asylum to any members of the Chechen gay and lesbian community in Australia who fear persecution if they return to their homeland. The band donned their famous balaclavas as they took to the steps of parliament house in Adelaide on Wednesday as part of a protest organised by Amnesty International. Alyokhina said Australia should not be silent on the issue of the ongoing persecution of individuals by Chechen authorities.

Brunei on Wednesday introduced strict new Islamic laws that will mean gay sex and adultery are punishable by death. The small, oil-rich Asian country has a ,strong population, two-thirds of whom are Muslim. Brunei's government showed no sign of stopping the law or bending to growing international condemnation a press release published on Saturday. Homosexuality was already illegal in the country and carried a punishment of up to 10 years in prison.
