Last week I was a little curious, and a little drunk when I decided to purchase a Sodastream. I got a great deal on it, and was wondering what I should try out, avoid, etc. I have a soda stream that I use occasionally, but never with any syrup.
Anyhow, the nice guy at Dicks says, "I just want you to know our CO2 is not beverage grade From a quick search, it appears to be fine, but I would love to know what the keggers in this community think. Thank you.

Subject pretty much says it all. I've got a corny keg full of fermented, uncarbonated beer that I want to have on tap for Sunday. I have acquired a CO2 tank, regulator, and hoses.
My wife bought a Sodastream a few weeks ago. We were buying a lot of seltzer and creating a lot of plastic bottle waste, so it seemed legit. I am dreading the day that I have to refill the CO2 bottle, though, because it seems like such a ripoff.

That is a bunch of baloney. Some dicks will do it, but your safest bet is finding the nearest paintball store. No, but Dicks sporting goods does.
